Spiral necklaces are hollow inside, making them a very lightweight necklace. Most of the ones I have made are created by adding one single bead at a time. They take many hours to make, but are luxurious to feel. Sometimes there is an unexpected surprise, like the Copper "Gold" Necklace below. It looks like two different colors were used, but it is all the same exact color and bead....it is just the beautiful and amazing play of light hitting it! These are not necklaces you can scrunch up into a tight ball, bend tightly into a 90 degree angle, or shove into a jean's pocket, because they will break. They are by no means fragile, they're just less tolerant of the common abuses jewelry gets subjected to. Like the saying goes, "Keep your jewelry looking good, and your jewelry will keep you looking good!"
