Have a good day!
Well....I just learned that they limit the length of your blog post, so what I was explaining and the whole rest of the list I spent time writing about is....POOF!!!!.....gone.....and, unfortunately I am out of time now. I am going to put that into the suggestion box, to not limit the length of the post, or at least let you know when you've reached the limit.
Have a good day!
*What I've learned So Far about building a website.....
***One of the first things I learned was to get a paper notebook specifically for your website.
***When you are ready to upload photos, have the pages in your paper notebook ready and have your titles/categories written down.
***As you select your photos, write down the folder the photo is in and the photo number. That way, when and if you go from the Free site to the e-Commerce site. you will not have to spend 100 hours trying to figure out which folder and which photo you uploaded.
***I learned that when you convert to the e-commerce, the "Buy Now" etc. buttons do not magically appear and all of those photos are not magically "products". You will have to go through the process of creating your store, and will have to upload all of those photos again using the "Products" section to THEN "magically" turn them into products.
***I learned that if a page isn't visible to the public, even though you have hit the "Publish" button several times and it's visible to you.....do **NOT** merge it or "fuse it into another page or category because it will vanish into thin air.
***I learned that one of the best things to do when your working on your website is to have your "public version" of the website up too. That way after you hit your "Publish" button, you can quickly check and see if it turned out the way you want it to look right away. Sometimes you quickly see something you forgot....like for me, a number of times I forgot to select a different header on a page or category. Which brings me to the next one....
***I learned that you need to select a header for your pages and categories....because if you leave it as "No Header".....for some reason, it will only show a thin slit of the tops of your photos.
***I learned how to turn photos on my computer and save them so they don't automatically turn sideways when you upload them.---When you double-click on your photo in your file to bring it up to full size, along the top it will say "
I was looking at all of the earrings and then while I was putting the earrings into categories here on the website I was wondering where all of the earrings were! So, I went through all of my files and found photos of several that have not been uploaded here. Today I also uploaded a few Pins, Bracelets, and the only two Barrettes. The 27 Park Rose Avenue Store has all of its categories for now too, as do the Necklaces. I did get a lot done today, but still have quite a bit more to upload here into the store. A few of the earrings, like the pair pictured above, were sold but were so well-liked that I figured I would still offer them for sale. I currently don't have a pair made, but this way too if you order them you can choose the ear wires you'd like.
Hopefully soon I will have a selection of Nobium ear wires in different colors and am considering offering some enamel-coated ear wires in different colors as an option too. I am also considering having Surgical Steel ear wires offered by request-only option, for its cheaper price and because some people may not be able to wear them and don't realize it. I'm also considering offering Silver-Filled ear wires as a request-only option for its cheaper price as well. All that said, it would mean I will be using Sterling Silver, Argentium Silver, or Nobium earwires.
I also have a lot more bracelets made than are here on the website. To get all of them here on the website though, I'm going to need a functioning camera. Hopefully soon!
Saturday (today) and Sunday are supposed to be in the 70's and sunny, so I am going to put one more coat of paint on one of the outside doors. Then I'm going to call it good for this year on work / projects outside.
Have a good weekend!
I uploaded all of the Chain Necklaces into the J Liz Jewelry & More Necklace Store, so they are all ready if you would like to be the first to claim them!
I accidently discovered something pretty neat...if you have been here to my website before you have probably noticed a REALLY COOL new change! I found out how to put the items in the store into categories. So...if you're looking for earrings with horses, butterflies, starfish, fish, etc., you can click onto the "Animal Earrings" at the top of the J Liz Jewelry & More Earring Store. Other categories are Flowers & Plants, Mother-of-Pearl, Natural Stones, etc. I did the same with the Necklaces. ......But.....being that my computer is running so slow that I'm entering a time warp, I think I'm going to give this computer a rest and continue later on. I am so thrilled to be able to offer such a quick and easy way to narrow your search and save you time! It's pretty time-consuming for me to do, but what a great service to provide! It may take a day or two, but it will get done. Also due to the computer going so slow, I'll be adding the newly added Chain Necklaces to the "New Items" page at a later time as well.
I haven't tried the canned air on my camera yet, so I can't tell you about that yet. I did get almost all of the outside painting done, and almost all of the other things I'm going to get done outside. That means I am just that much closer to making new items!
Until next time!
The rain has moved in for the most part of this week, so I will be tending to getting the chain necklaces active in the store part of this website. I am also so thrilled at the thought of making more jewelry and other items, that I am going to have a hard time deciding which I'd like to do first--because I want to do it ALL first LOL. Like a kid in a candy store....
I've been so busy outside that I haven't tried the "canned air" on my camera to see if just maybe a particle got into the mechanisms and can be blown out. --This great idea was suggested to me by a friend up in Alaska. He takes such beautiful photos of the area up there! While I was outside painting there were two beautiful hawks in an aerial battle, locking talons and swinging each other around in the air. Then I saw two big Turkey vultures spiraling in the thermals. I love living in the country!
Well, I guess I'd better get to work here! Have a good day!
The weather has been beautiful and I have been getting as much outside work done as I can. There are only a few more nice days left and then the weather is going to change, with rain and cool temps. I will soon be making more new jewelry, and I can not tell you how happy I am about that!!!! I have a lot of really, really beautiful, and really cool-looking jewelry coming up. Hopefully soon I will either get my camera working again, or I will have a new one so I can take photos of the new creations and share them with you!
You now have pictures, descriptions, and possible prices for your gift packaging options. I have almost the whole page up-to-date finished. If my camera had not decided to quit on me, this page would be done. I hope you check it out! I am hoping to get more of the beautiful Satin Butterfly Pouches, but they're hard to get.
I updated and improved the "What's New at the J Liz Jewelry & More Store" INFO, and then added a separate page below it for "NEW ITEMS". I decided to categorize them by the month, so if you missed a month or so, you can look through this page to see what was added. It's not an active store page, so enter the SKU# in the Search Box and it should take you right to it. ---I haven't had time to check on this wonderful feature, but plan to soon.
Most of the new necklaces are Chain necklaces. There are a few more to add yet. Below is one of the new additions to the website.
It sure is a cold morning. It is only in the 30's!
I hope you enjoy the new pages and the new look I gave the info page.
Until next time...
It has been so busy here with fall weather fast approaching. All of those outside projects that need to be done has been raised up in priority. Some I'm still hoping I'll get to before that icy cold, chilly, wet stuff is here making me shiver for the next six months. I have an outside door to finish painting, stairs, etc., the vehicle to get winterized, etc. I saw two flocks of geese flying South last week and I wished I could have joined them. ---Anyway, as a result of the mad dash to get the outside stuff done, I haven't been here on the website as much to get it all caught up with everything I have made.
I am happy to say that I am getting pretty close to having everything I have made so far posted on the website. I miss making jewelry, horses and everything else so bad. It will be nice to get back into my little world of ideas.
I also need to get a facebook page set up for the business so the facebook icons will appear and we can all share photos and information from here. I'm going to check on the social media sharing to see what I need to do and how.
I still have the Chain necklaces to upload, packaging option photos, ornaments, and maybe more. Maybe later today if the weather isn't good for painting.
Please be sure to check out the "What's New in the J Liz Jewelry & More Store!" to see what's new AND so you can have a chance to participate in the VERY FIRST CONTEST!!!! It's an easy one...just tell me how many people you think you can get together for a photograph that are holding my business card up. The person with the most people in their photo, wins. The rules are simple, and if you have any questions, contact me. --I also hope you'll check out the new "Frequently Asked Questions" page. I'm going to be adding more info to that page as well.
I'm going to be pretty busy here, so your best bet is to call or text me.
I like to have fun, like a good laugh, love to design and create things. I love the wilderness, it's flora and fauna, I love looking at rocks and looking at things under a microscope. I'm always curious, always thinking, and I love all of my critter companions. They give me true, undying love, companionship, loyal protection and laughs. Without them I think a big part of my heart and my life would be empty. I get a lot of my inspiration from the love of them all.
